Smart Auto Close User Guide
Introduction
Attention: This tool is only supported for SCSM 2016 and later
Smart Auto Close is a simple collection of workflows that can be used to automatically close the different work item types. For each work item type different options are available, after how many days and at what time the items will be closed automatically.

Installation
The installation is performed using the management pack import functionality of SCSM. Please refer to the Microsoft TechNet Library for more information on how to import management packs:

Follow these steps to install Operaio Smart Auto Close:
- Log on to SCSM using an account with administrative privileges in SCSM.
- Copy the
Operaio.AutoClose.Workflows.dll
to the SCSM installation directory. By default, this isC:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager\
- Copy the
Syliance.SCSM.Licensing.dll
to the SCSM installation directory. By default, this isC:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\Service Manager\
- Import the
Operaio.AutoClose.UI.2016.mpb
management pack - Import the
Operaio.AutoClose.Workflows.xml
management pack - Import the
itnetX.SCSM.PowerShellTasksv1.LicenseInfo.mp
or theitnetX.SCSM.scsmProdPackv1.LicenseInfo
(Bundle license for Productivity Pack) Management Pack into your SCSM environment. - Restart the SCSM Console.
How it works
After importing all relevant management packs, you can activate all workflows in the “Operaio Auto-Close Settings”:
You can activate the following workflows:
- Close Change Request in status Cancelled
- Close Change Request in status Failed
- Close Change Request in status Completed
- Close Incidents in status Resolved
- Close Problems in status Resolved
- Close Release Records in status Cancelled
- Close Release Records in status Completed
- Close Release Records in status Failed
- Close Service Request in status Completed
- Close Service Request in status Cancelled
- Close Service Request in status Failed
For every workflow you can setup a time to run (24 hours format) and activate only the workflows you want to run by activating the checkbox.
For some of the workflows you can setup automatically a Implementation Result value to set when closing the item.
